Chrome on iOS now lets you move the address bar to the bottom

Google Chrome on iOS now lets users choose to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen, according to a report by The Verge. The feature is similar to the one introduced by Apple in Safari on iOS 15, which also places the address bar at the bottom. The feature is meant to make it easier to reach the address bar with one hand, especially on larger devices. However, some users may prefer the traditional layout of having the address bar at the top.

The report says that users can switch between the top and bottom positions by long-pressing on the address bar and selecting “Move to top” or “Move to bottom”. Alternatively, users can go to Settings and choose their preferred position under “Display and Brightness”. The feature is available in Chrome version 95.0.4638.50, which was released on October 31, 2023. The report cites a Google spokesperson who confirmed the feature and said that it was part of Google’s efforts to improve Chrome’s usability and accessibility.
