Elon Musk has made a new logo for Twitter. He chose a simple “X” with an art style called “minimalist art deco”. He said he might change it later to make it better. Twitter’s CEO, Linda Yaccarino, confirmed the new design by sharing it on Twitter and saying “X is here! Let’s do this.”
Elon Musk asked his 149 million followers to give him ideas for a new Twitter logo. He chose a logo that he showed on a video on his Twitter page on Sunday. The video was at the top of his Twitter page and the logo was flashing on and off.
Elon Musk really likes the letter “X” and wants to use it for an app that can do everything. He has talked about this app before and thinks Twitter could be a good way to launch it. Musk recently bought Twitter and made it part of a company called X Corp. He also started another company called xAI, which is about artificial intelligence.
Someone posted a design for an “X” logo on Twitter and Musk liked it. He thinks the “X” app could be like WeChat, a Chinese app that can be used for lots of things like messaging and ordering a taxi. Musk wants Twitter to be like WeChat and thinks it will be successful.
Twitter’s CEO, Linda Yaccarino, said that the X app will use artificial intelligence and will be focused on audio, video, messaging, and payments. On Monday, Twitter changed its logo to the “X” and the official Twitter account became the X brand.

Some people are worried that this rebranding is risky because Twitter has a lot of competitors and is not doing well financially.
“By changing Twitter’s app name, Elon Musk will have singlehandedly wiped out over 15 years of a brand name that has secured its place in our cultural lexicon,” said Mike Proulx, research director at the analysis firm Forrester.
“This is an extremely risky move because with ‘X’, Musk is essentially starting over while its competition is afoot.”
