Instagram Allows Some Users to Download Reels

If you ever wanted to download an Instagram reel from your favorite influencer or celebrity, you might be in luck. Instagram will now allow some users to download the app, so you can save the videos you like.

The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, shared in a recent video on the Instagram broadcast channel that users in the US can now download Insta Reels directly to their devices. This means that users can save the reels to their phones and share them with others outside of the app. It’s unclear whether the downloaded reels will have a watermark or not, as Mosseri did not mention this in his announcement. However, he did say that the reels will have the Instagram logo and the name of the account on them.

How to Download Instagram Reels?

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to download Instagram reels:

  1. Find the reel that you want to download on Instagram.
  2. Tap on the Share button that appears under the reel.
  3. Select the Download option from the menu that appears.
  4. Choose the “Add to Story” option.
  5. Tap on the three-dot button in the corner of the screen.
  6. Select the “Save” icon from the options displayed.
  7. Congratulations! The reel will now be downloaded to your device.

It’s important to note that reels shared by private accounts cannot be downloaded. Additionally, public accounts have the option to turn off the feature that allows users to download their reels.

Can Indian Users Use This Feature?

Unfortunately, Instagram users in India cannot use the download feature for reels at the moment. Even though India has a user base of 229 million, this feature is only available to users in the US right now. However, Indian users can still use third-party apps to download the reels they like.
