Instagram’s Text-Based App to Launch in June, Connect with Competitors
According to Lia Haberman, a social and influencer marketing instructor at UCLA who shared an early app description screenshot, the new app will be launched as a separate platform from Instagram, but it will allow users to connect their accounts. The app is expected to be released as early as June, and there are plans to make it compatible with other Twitter competitors like Mastodon in the future, as indicated by the screenshot.

Meta Platforms May Consolidate Features into Single App, Analyst Says
Lia Haberman commented on Meta’s history of borrowing features from other apps and third-party tools that they anticipate will be popular among their user base. Haberman also mentioned Elon Musk’s plans to expand Twitter into an “everything app” that offers more than just informational posts. Based on Meta’s track record of incorporating features from other platforms, it is likely that they will be the first to consolidate and integrate all of these experiences into a single app.
