Telegram Stories now available, but only for some users
Telegram Stories is a feature that lets people share pictures and videos that disappear after some time. Telegram is trying to do more than other apps, like letting people choose how long a Story will last, such as 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours. Most apps make Stories disappear after 24 hours.
Telegram also lets people make lists of different contacts for each Story. This means you can share a Story with your best friends and another one just for your coworkers. The way it looks is similar to other apps that already have Stories, with a list of available Stories at the top of your chats.
Like on Instagram and Snapchat, you can react and reply to someone’s Story on Telegram. But there’s a problem. Anyone can see the Stories, but only people who pay for Telegram Premium can create them. When people who don’t have Premium try to make a Story, the app tells them they need to pay. We don’t know if the Stories feature will be free for everyone in the future, but the word “currently” suggests it might be.
