You Can Now Add Your Favorite Podcasts to YouTube Music via RSS Feeds

You can now easily add your favorite podcasts to YouTube Music using RSS feeds. Previously, Google had announced the closure of its podcasting service and shifted its focus to YouTube Music. This decision upset many users who relied on the RSS import feature of Podcasts to listen to content not available on Google’s platform. Google has a history of discontinuing services without providing equivalent features, leaving users frustrated.

Fortunately, Google has now introduced the option to add podcasts through RSS feeds, which is a significant improvement. This feature is gradually being rolled out to users and is beneficial for both podcast listeners and creators.

To add podcasts via RSS feed, go to the Library tab in YouTube Music and tap the “Add podcasts” button. Paste the RSS feed URL of the podcast you want to listen to, and it will appear in your library. This is particularly useful for podcasts that haven’t been uploaded to YouTube Studio or haven’t been transferred by Google yet.

The great thing about this feature is that the podcasts you manually add will be integrated with your existing podcast content, unlike the separate treatment Google gave to Google Play Music imports. Although the manually added podcasts will have an identifiable RSS icon, they will seamlessly blend into the app’s interface.

With the introduction of this feature, YouTube Music ensures that you won’t have to say goodbye to your favorite shows, even though the transition could have been smoother. If you encounter any issues or if you’re already enjoying the new podcast experience on YouTube Music, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
